Following the earlier statement by the Kaduna State Police Command, the Kaduna State Government provides this update on the incident at Mando Motor Park in the early hours of 5th April 2026.

In a statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, said that preliminary findings confirm that the incident involved a CNG-powered bus operated by Silver Luxury Travel, with a minor explosion traced to a technical fault linked to overfilling. There was no bomb explosion, and no casualties or property loss were recorded. The situation was swiftly contained, and normal activities have since resumed.

Demonstrating decisive leadership, His Excellency, Governor Uba Sani, CON, has ordered a sweeping multi-agency investigation to ascertain both the immediate and underlying causes of the incident.

The probe will involve relevant security agencies, technical regulators, and safety authorities to ensure full accountability and strengthen operational standards for CNG usage across the state.

The Governor also commends the Kaduna State Police Command, particularly the Bomb Disposal Unit, for their prompt and professional response in securing the area and ensuring public safety.

Reassuring residents, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, emphasized that the incident was purely technical and not a security threat, urging citizens to remain calm, rely on verified information, and go about their lawful activities.

“The Kaduna State Government remains fully committed to the protection of lives and property and will continue to keep the public informed as investigations progress,” Ahmed Maiyaki said.
