SRRBDA Supports Farmers with Solar-Powered Pumping Machines at Zauro Polder Irrigation Project

The Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority (SRRBDA) has distributed solar-powered pumping machines to selected farmers operating within the Zauro Polder Irrigation Project in Birnin Kebbi as part of efforts to enhance agricultural productivity.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, the Managing Director of SRRBDA, Alhaji Abubakar Malam (Shettiman Gwandu), who was represented by the Project Manager, Engr. Mariya Suleiman, stated that the intervention is aimed at supporting farmers to achieve maximum yields in line with the agricultural objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the solar-powered pumping machines, emphasizing that the initiative is part of an ongoing support programme designed to reach a larger number of farmers across the state.
The Managing Director also expressed appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Dr, Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for his continued support to farmers and the agricultural sector in the state.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Farmers’ Association, Alhaji Shehu Dan Nagwari, thanked the management of SRRBDA for the gesture and assured that the beneficiaries would make effective and responsible use of the machines to boost their farming activities.
