Sokoto Correspondents’ Chapel Loses Member,: Ibrahim Goronyo

The Sokoto State Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), on Wednesday night lost one of its members, Ibrahim Mohammed Goronyo to the cold hands of death after a brief ailment, a statement jointly signed by the chairman, Ankeli Emmanuel and Secretary, Musa Ubamdawki, respectively, confirmed.
The late Goronyo, who until his death was the Financial Secretary of the chapel, was also reporting for the Aljazera AM Standard Times.
Describing his demise as a huge loss to the journalism profession in Sokoto State, the statement noted that, Goronyo, while alive was a very active member whose primary focus was to ensure that he justified his presence by publishing reports from every event he attended.
“The late Goronyo was not just a colleague but a very amazing individual whose presence always ignited humour, stirred discussions and always bring story scoops that were very plausible.
“He was such a very honest and straightforward individual, that strongly believed in saying the truth not minding whose ox was gored.”
While praying for the repose of his soul, the statement deeply commiserated with his immediate family, the professional colleagues and all sympathizers, even as it prayed the Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant his soul Aljanat Firdaus.
The statement concluded by saying that his remans will be laid to rest according to Islamic rites on Thursday morning at Arkila, Wamakko Local Government Area, Sokoto State.
