APPRECIATION MESSAGE BY THE MANAGING DIRECTOR, SOKOTO RIMA RIVER BASIN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (SRRBDA), ALHAJI ABUBAKAR MALAM, MFR (SHETTIMAN GWANDU), ON THE OCCASION OF HIS FIRST YEAR IN OFFICE – 4TH APRIL, 2026
Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim.
I give all glory and gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting us the grace to witness this important milestone of my first year in office as Managing Director of the Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority (SRRBDA).
I sincerely appreciate His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the opportunity to serve our great nation and for the privilege of representing Kebbi State in this important national assignment. I also thank the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, His Excellency, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for his encouragement, support, and confidence in my capacity.
My profound appreciation goes to the Honourable Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Engr. Joseph Terlumun Utsev, FNSE, and the entire staff of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation for their guidance and collaboration in advancing the water resources sector.
I also extend my sincere gratitude to the distinguished members of the National Assembly from our catchment areas for their continued support to the Authority. In particular, I appreciate the Chairman, Senate Committee on Water Resources, Distinguished Senator Abdulaziz Yari (Shettiman Mafara), the Chairman, House Committee on Water Resources, Hon. Sada Soli, as well as the Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriations, Distinguished Senator Solomon Adeola, and the Chairman, House Committee on Appropriations, Hon. Abubakar Kabir Bichi, alongside members of their committees for their guidance, oversight, and support.
We remain committed to ensuring effective supervision, transparency, and timely implementation of all constituency projects domiciled in the Authority.
Within this first year, we have worked to strengthen irrigation development, improve water resources management, and support agricultural productivity across our areas of operation. These achievements would not have been possible without the dedication and commitment of our management and staff, whose efforts I sincerely appreciate.
I also thank our stakeholders, community leaders, farmers, development partners, and the general public for their support and cooperation.
As we move forward, we remain committed to delivering impactful programmes that will enhance water resources management, boost agricultural production, and improve livelihoods, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Once again, I thank Almighty Allah for His guidance and thank everyone who has contributed to the successes recorded within this first year.
