Aliyu donates SR 1,000 to each of 2,410 Sokoto pilgrims

The Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, has approved a Sallah welfare package of SR1,000 for each of the 2,410 Sokoto State pilgrims currently performing the 2026 Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This was contained in a statement signed on Thursday by Faruku Umar,
Head of Information and Communications, Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Sokoto.
According to the statement, the announcement was made by the Amirul Hajj and Leader of the Sokoto State 2026 Hajj Delegation, Alhaji Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, who is also the Minister of Labour and Employment, during the delivery of his Sallah message to the pilgrims at the Sokoto pilgrims’ tents in Minna.
Alhaji Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi stated that Gov. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto places high priority on the welfare and comfort of pilgrims, describing the gesture as part of the Governor’s continued commitment to supporting Sokoto pilgrims throughout the Hajj exercise.
He called on the pilgrims to reciprocate the gesture by continuing to pray for sustained peace, stability, unity, and progress in Sokoto State and Nigeria as a whole.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Aliyu Musa, disclosed that a total of 2,410 pilgrims from Sokoto State successfully performed the 2026 Hajj rites.
He expressed appreciation to the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, for his unwavering support to the agency and pilgrims at all times.
The Chairman also commended the Sokoto State Government Hajj Delegation led by Alhaji Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, members of the board, staff of the agency, and various committee members for their dedication and commitment, which contributed immensely to the successes recorded during the 2026 Hajj operations.
