Why I defected from PDP to APC — Engr. Haruna Tambuwal

A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Engr. Haruna Abubakar Tambuwal, Chiroman Tambuwal, says he recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), sequel to the colossal even infrastructural development projects executed by Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto across the state.
Our Correspondent reports that the former PDP chieftain spoke on Tuesday in Tambuwal when he paid a courtesy call on the Chairman of Tambuwal Local Government Area, Alhaji Abba Shehu Tambuwal, who is also the Chairman, of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Sokoto State chapter.
Speaking further, Engr. Zaki Tambuwal applauded Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto for his tireless efforts to transform Sokoto State in a jiffy.
He said, “There is little wonder however as his utmost dedication, piety, patriotism and unwavering commitment to the development of Sokoto State were the resultant effects of the astute mentorship he has received from our leader, father and benefactor, Distinguished Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, former Governor of Sokoto State.
“This is glaringly evident in the ceaseless efforts the Governor has been positively making to make Sokoto State to be at par with its contemporaries or even surpass them in all ramifications.
” I, therefore, joined APC not for any political aspiration but to greatly facilitate the gallant efforts of the Governor and the Chairman of Tambuwal Local Government Area.
“We are here to help build a more resilient and evenly developed Sokoto State and we won’t relent until APC wins at all levels, come 2027.
“This is with the view to consolidating the ongoing democratic gains in Tambuwal Local Government Area in particular, as well as Sokoto State and the central level, in general.
“We will also make sure that all those who are supposed to be on this fast-moving development train are brought on board. This we will do from now to the days leading to the 2027 general elections.”
He cited a myriad of projects that had been tangibly executed in the area by the current APC-led administration of Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, especially the recent total rehabilitation and modernization of the decades-old Central Jumaat Mosque in Tambuwal town.
Engr. Zaki Tambuwal also extolled the efforts of the Chairman of the Local Government Area, Alhaji Abba Shehu Tambuwal that had led to the improvement of the security situation in the area.
He recalled that hitherto, cases of kidnapping were rampant in the local government, saying, “happily, this hitherto obnoxious situation had greatly improved now.”
Responding, Alhaji Abba Shehu Tambuwal, commended the detection of the Chiroman Tambuwal into the APC from PDP, saying, ” you are now home and everybody is equal here.
“All the members of the great will be treated fairly, justly and equitably. All of us will get a level-playing ground for us to work towards the success of APC at all levels in 2027 and beyond.”
