UDUS dismisses staff for illegally uploading unqualified students for NYSC mobilization

At its 176th meeting held on Wednesday, 1* April 2026, the Governing Council of
Usmanu Danfodiyo University approved the dismissal of Malam Garba Ahmed from the University’s service. Malam Garba was found guilty of illegally uploading
unqualified students for NYSC mobilization.

This was contained in a statement isued by Ismaila Mohammed Yauri,
Director, Information and Public Relations.

According to the statement, his dismissal takes effect from the date
of the Council’s decision. Prior to his dismissal, he was a staff member of the Registry Department.

It added, “The University Governing Council maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward acts of serious or gross misconduct. It would be recalled that the Governing Council had dismissed three staff members found quilty of result alteration sexual harassment,
and abscondment from duty.

“The decision, was reached during the University’s
171st regular meeting held on March 12, 2025.

“The dismissed staff members were
Mallam Bello Aminu Bodinga of the Department of Computer Science Department in
the Faculty of Physical and Computing Science who was dismissed by the University
for results alteration, Mallam Manir Malami Umar from the Department of Computer
Science Department was similarly dismissed for results alteration and sexual
harassment, while Mallam Aliyu Umar from Pure and Applied Chemistry Department
was found guilty of abscondment from duty and was therefore dismissed
accordingly.

“These measures were taken by the University Governing Council in order to maintain
the institution’s commitment to achieving academic integrity and excellence.”
