E-Registration : PDP targets 4.9m new members in Sokoto State

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Sokoto State chapter, says it is targeting no fewer than 4.9 million new members across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.
This was disclosed by the party’s former State Secretary and a critical stakeholder in its state and national affairs, Hon.  Kabiru Aliyu, also a former Special Adviser in Sokoto State.
Our Correspondent reports that the former Scribe disclosed this on Wednesday in Sokoto at the opening of a one-day Train-Of-Trainer ( TOT) training for the officials that will conduct the party’s two-week E-Membership Registration Exercise that would commence immediately.
According to Aliyu, the PDP in the state will garner no fewer than 20,000 new members in each of the 244 political wards in the state.
He said,  “We must commend the state and national leadership of the party for this bold move to register new members in the country.
“This is a certainly a very critical exercise that will boost the membership strength of the party and it’s chances in the 2027 general elections.”
Also speaking, the Co-Chairperson of the Committee overseeing the exercise, Hon. Zainab Dogon-Daji, said training was to empower the participants with the requisite technical skills to diligently conduct the all-important exercise.
She added that the training would be stepped down to all the political wards in the state so as to make it plausible.
Also speaking, a former Commissioner of Water Resources and former Gubernatorial Candidate of the Congrws For Progressive Change (CPC)in Sokoto State, Hon. Dahiru Yusuf Yabo, appealed to all the members of the party and the generality of the citizens to massively register and join the PDP.
“We should all be patriotic and fully partake in the crucial exercise so as not to disenfranchise ourselves during the forthcoming general polls in 2027,” Yabo futher urged.
In his remarks, another critical stakeholder, Hon. Hayatu Tafiya, also a former Special Adviser in the state, urged the people of the state to come out en masse and participate in the exercise.
