HAJJ 2026: KEBBI FLAGS OFF DISTRIBUTION OF UNIFORMS, BAGS, HIJABS TO HAJJ GUIDES ACROSS 21 LGAs

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has flagged off the distribution of Hajj materials- including uniforms, bags and hijabs to Hajj Guides drawn from the 21 Local Government Areas of the state, as part of ongoing preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
This was contained in a statement issued by Yahaya Sarki,Special Adviser (SA) on Media and Publicity to the Kebbi State Governor.
The flag-off ceremony, held at the premises of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency in Birnin Kebbi, underscores the state government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the welfare, comfort and seamless movement of intending pilgrims to the Holy Land.
Governor Idris, who performed the symbolic presentation to the Hajj Guide of Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area, stated that the gesture fulfills his administration’s promise to continuously improve the welfare package for Kebbi pilgrims and officials engaged in the annual spiritual exercise.
Also at the event, the Honourable Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, performed a symbolic presentation to the Hajj Guide of Yauri Local Government Area, in a show of solidarity and continued support for the success of Hajj operations in Kebbi State.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Nasir Idris commended the Executive Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Faruk Musa Yaro, for his dedication and effective leadership, noting that the agency has consistently to distinguished itself nationally in the areas of pilgrims’ welfare, feeding, transportation and overall coordination.
The Governor recalled that his administration, has introduced significant improvements in Hajj operations, including the provision of two bags for each pilgrim instead of one, alongside other essential items aimed at making the pilgrimage more convenient and dignified.
He expressed satisfaction that Kebbi State has maintained a clean record in Hajj operations, proudly noting that no pilgrim from the state has ever been involved in actions capable of tarnishing the image of the state or the country during pilgrimage.
Governor Idris further disclosed that Kebbi State has earned national recognition in Hajj management, particularly in the areas of feeding and logistics, with pilgrims from other states often attesting to the quality of welfare services enjoyed by Kebbi contingents in the Holy Land.
Earlier, the Executive Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Faruk Musa Yaro, said the distribution of the Hajj materials to guides across the 21 LGAs was part of broader arrangements put in place to ensure a hitch-free 2026 Hajj exercise.
He revealed that Kebbi State rank among the leading states in Nigeria in terms of preparedness for the 2026 Hajj, with visa processing, flight scheduling, accommodation arrangements in Makkah and Madinah, and pilgrims’ identification measures already substantially concluded well ahead of departure.
Alhaji Faruk Musa Yaro also highlighted key innovations introduced for this year’s Hajj, including enhanced identification cards with codes, Nusuk processing arrangements, and the planned payment of Basic Travel Allowance in Saudi Riyals, all designed to reduce hardship and improve efficiency for Kebbi pilgrims.
The ceremony attracted top government officials, members of the National and State Assemblies, local government chairmen, religious leaders, party stakeholders and officials of the Pilgrims Welfare Agency, who all applauded the state government for sustaining a people-oriented and result-driven approach to Hajj administration.
The flag-off of the distribution of uniforms, bags, hijabs and other Hajj support materials to the Hajj Guides of the 21 Local Government Areas is yet another demonstration of Governor Nasir Idris’ resolve to make the 2026 Hajj exercise one of the most successful, organized and pilgrim-friendly in the history of Kebbi State.
