In a development that underscores growing grassroots momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jima Ward, Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State, have unanimously endorsed Alhaji Mohammed Ndarani, SAN, for the Niger South Senatorial seat.

The endorsement, delivered at a well-attended stakeholders’ meeting in Jima, the administrative headquarters of the ward, is widely seen as a strategic consolidation of support for the renowned legal luminary whose political profile continues to gain traction across the district.

Party leaders, community influencers, youth representatives and women groups at the meeting described the endorsement as a product of careful assessment of leadership capacity, track record and commitment to grassroots development.

Chairman of APC in Jima Ward, Alhaji Abubakar Umar, said the decision of the ward was driven by Ndarani’s visible contributions to community development and his longstanding relationship with the people.

According to Umar, the Senior Advocate of Nigeria, who is also the Hukunchi Nupe and Hausaland, has distinguished himself as a philanthropist and development-oriented leader who has consistently intervened in critical sectors despite not holding any elective office.

He noted that Ndarani’s interventions in infrastructure support, education and community welfare have set him apart as a leader prepared for higher responsibility.

“This endorsement is not based on sentiment but on performance, credibility and capacity. He has shown, even without holding office, that he understands the needs of our people and is ready to address them decisively,” Umar said.

The chairman added that the people of Jima Ward were confident that Ndarani’s emergence at the Senate would translate into accelerated development not only for the ward, but for the entire Niger South Senatorial District.

In his remarks, the Village Head of Jima, Barr. Mohammed Nma Tsadu, called for sustained unity among party members and urged the people to complement their political support with prayers for the success of the aspirant.

He particularly appealed to religious leaders across the district to intensify prayers for peaceful primaries and electoral victory, stressing that leadership is both a responsibility and a divine trust.

Describing Ndarani as a worthy ambassador of the community, Nma Tsadu said the aspirant possesses the experience, exposure and competence required to attract meaningful development to the area.

“Our son has paid his dues.
He has the knowledge, the network and the passion to represent us effectively. What he needs now is our collective support and prayers,” he said.

Other stakeholders who spoke at the meeting emphasized the urgent need for quality representation anchored on competence, legislative experience and intellectual depth.

They maintained that the complexity of modern governance requires leaders who understand policy formulation, lawmaking and strategic engagement at the national level.

According to them, Ndarani’s professional standing as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria places him in a unique position to navigate the legislative terrain and influence policies that would benefit Niger South.

The stakeholders further stressed that beyond qualifications, Ndarani has demonstrated accessibility, humility and a people-oriented approach—qualities they described as critical for effective representation.

Responding to the endorsement, Alhaji Mohammed Ndarani, SAN, expressed profound gratitude to the people of Jima Ward for the confidence reposed in him, describing the gesture as both humbling and inspiring.

He said the overwhelming support from the grassroots reflects a shared aspiration for a new era of inclusive growth and sustainable development in Niger South.

Ndarani assured that if elected, his representation would be defined by purposeful leadership, accountability and tangible impact across all sectors.

He outlined a people-centred agenda focused on youth empowerment, women inclusion, education support, job facilitation and economic opportunities for small and medium-scale enterprises.

“I am deeply encouraged by this show of trust. If given the mandate, I will dedicate myself fully to serving our people. My focus will be on creating opportunities, strengthening our communities and ensuring that Niger South takes its rightful place in national development,” he said.

He further pledged to pursue strategic partnerships that would attract federal presence, infrastructural development and investment opportunities to the district.

The aspirant emphasized that his vision goes beyond representation to transformative leadership that delivers measurable outcomes and improves the quality of life of the people.

Speaking earlier, the Director-General of the Ndarani SAN Support Organisation (NDASSO) said the endorsement by Jima Ward marks a significant milestone in the growing acceptance of the aspirant across the senatorial district.

He noted that the organisation has intensified grassroots mobilisation, engagement and sensitisation across communities to build a broad-based support structure ahead of the APC primaries.

According to him, Ndarani’s credibility, professional excellence and commitment to service have continued to resonate with party members and the electorate.

“We are confident that he will not only secure the party’s ticket but also emerge victorious at the general election. More importantly, he has the capacity to deliver quality representation that our people truly deserve,” the DG said.

He added that the support organisation would continue to work with stakeholders, traditional institutions and youth groups to sustain the momentum and ensure a united front for victory.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment by party members to work collectively towards the emergence of Ndarani as the APC flag bearer for Niger South, with many describing his candidacy as a defining opportunity to reposition the district for accelerated development.

Political observers say the endorsement by Jima Ward may signal the beginning of a broader consolidation of support across Lavun LGA and the wider Niger South zone, positioning Ndarani as a formidable contender in the race for the Red Chamber.
