The Walin Sokoto, Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan’iya, has congratulated His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, on the 20th anniversary of his ascension to the throne of the Sokoto Caliphate.
In a congratulatory message, Hon. Dan’iya said two decades on the throne represent not merely the passage of time, but a remarkable journey of service, responsibility, sacrifice and steadfast commitment to the Sultanate, the Muslim Ummah and the unity of Nigeria.
He noted that the Sultan’s leadership has continued to uphold the dignity of the Sokoto Caliphate, strengthen the bonds of the community and promote peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths and backgrounds.
Dan’iya, who said he was offering the felicitations as Walin Sokoto and a descendant of the noble heritage of Sheikh Usmanu Danfodiyo through the lineage of Isah Mai Kware, Autan Shehu, stated that he holds deep reverence for the institution of the Sultanate and the enduring values of faith, justice, knowledge, humility and service upon which the legacy of the forebears was established.
He described the responsibility of leadership as a sacred trust, adding that the Sultan’s twenty years on the throne stand as a significant chapter in the continuing history of that trust.
He prayed that Almighty Allah continues to grant His Eminence sound health, long life, divine wisdom and strength to discharge the enormous responsibilities of his exalted office.
He further prayed that Allah guides his counsel, blesses his efforts towards the advancement of Islam, strengthens his commitment to peace and unity, and grants him the grace to lead with justice, compassion and spiritual fulfilment for many more years.
“Barka da cika shekaru 20 a kan karagar mulkin Musulunci da al’ummar Sokoto. Allah Ya kara lafiya, hikima, nisan kwana da daukaka,” he said.
Dan’iya congratulated the Sultan on behalf of his family and in his capacity as Walin Sokoto, praying that the Almighty preserves the Sultanate and continues to make Sokoto a beacon of faith, learning, peace and moral leadership.
