Doko, Jima youths, women reaffirm unwavering support for Ndarani SAN

Youths and women from Doko and Jima districts of Lavun Local Government Area of Niger have reaffirmed their unwavering support and loyalty to Bar. Mohammed Ndarani Mohammed, SAN, describing him as the best candidate to provide quality and effective representation for Niger South Senatorial District.

The groups made their position known on Thursday at a solidarity gathering held in Doko, where they expressed confidence in the capacity, integrity and commitment of Ndarani to provide the much-needed dividends of democracy to the people of the zone.

Speaking in turns, the youths and women said their support for Ndarani remained strong and unwavering, stressing that they identified with his aspiration to represent the people of Niger South at the National Assembly.

They described Ndarani, also known as Hukunchi Nupe and Hausaland and Madugu Lapai, as a credible and committed son of the soil whose antecedents had demonstrated his concern for the development and welfare of the people.

The groups expressed dismay over the outcome of the recently concluded primary election for the Niger South Senatorial District, insisting that, in their view, the process did not meet their expectations.

They, however, called on their supporters to remain calm, united and committed to peaceful democratic engagement while exploring legitimate avenues provided by the law.

According to them, “all we want is quality representation, and Ndarani has all it takes to give us the representation we desire and move Niger South forward.”

They maintained that the people of the zone deserved a representative who would understand their challenges, articulate their aspirations and pursue meaningful interventions capable of improving their socio-economic wellbeing.

The groups said Ndarani’s commitment to the people went beyond political ambition, noting that his interventions in education, youth empowerment, community development and support for individuals and groups had demonstrated his willingness to contribute to the progress of the society even without holding elective office.

They pledged to continue mobilising support for the Senior Advocate of Nigeria across communities in the zone, saying his aspiration had become a collective project anchored on the desire for effective representation and development.

The youths and women further assured that they would continue to engage political leaders, community leaders and other stakeholders through constructive dialogue, with due respect for the rule of law, the Electoral Act and democratic principles.

They said their objective was to ensure that the voice and aspirations of the people were heard, while promoting peaceful, lawful and credible democratic processes.

They appealed to all stakeholders in Niger South to place the interest of the people above personal considerations and support the emergence of a representative capable of attracting development and effectively articulating the needs of the senatorial district.

The groups also commended Ndarani for maintaining contact with the grassroots and for demonstrating what they described as uncommon commitment to the welfare of the people of Zone A.

They said his accessibility and willingness to listen to the concerns of ordinary people had continued to endear him to youths, women, community leaders and other stakeholders across the zone.

Speaking at the event, an APC chieftain in the area, Alhaji Mohammed Jibrin Yafu, commended Ndarani for his contributions to the development of the area, Zone A and Niger State in general.

Yafu said the learned silk had distinguished himself through various interventions and initiatives aimed at supporting the people, despite not occupying an elective political position or holding a government appointment.

According to him, “Ndarani SAN is neither a politician nor a government worker, yet he is bringing development to our communities, Zone A and Niger State in general.”

He said such gestures demonstrated that legal luminary’s commitment to the people was driven by genuine concern for their welfare rather than the privileges associated with political office.

Yafu urged the people of the area to continue to support individuals who had demonstrated capacity, compassion and commitment to community development.

He described Ndarani as a man with a broad network, professional experience and the capacity to attract opportunities and development to Niger South if given the opportunity to represent the zone at the Senate.

The APC chieftain also appealed to supporters to remain peaceful and law-abiding, stressing that the pursuit of political aspirations should always be conducted within the ambit of the law.

Also speaking, one of Ndarani’s strong supporters, Alhaji Musa Abubakar-Muregi, appealed to the supporters to remain calm and steadfast in their support for the SAN.

Abubakar-Muregi urged them not to be discouraged by recent political developments, saying that their commitment should be sustained through peaceful mobilisation, constructive engagement and respect for democratic institutions.

He described Ndarani as “the best thing that can happen to Niger South” if given the opportunity to represent the zone at the Senate.

According to him, Ndarani possesses the experience, intellect, connections and passion required to effectively articulate the concerns of the people and attract meaningful development to the senatorial district.

He said the people of Niger South needed a representative who would be accessible, responsive and capable of engaging relevant institutions at the national level to secure projects, programmes and opportunities for the benefit of the constituents.

Abubakar-Muregi called on youths and women to remain united and continue to educate the electorate on the importance of quality representation, assuring that their support for Ndarani would remain peaceful and within the provisions of the law.

He further appealed to political stakeholders to listen to the concerns of the people and ensure that the democratic process reflected the genuine aspirations of the electorate.

The gathering ended with renewed assurances by the youths and women of Jima and Doko districts that they would continue to stand by Ndarani SAN and support his aspirations, while pursuing their political objectives through peaceful, lawful and democratic means.
